Trove

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

Trove ("Trove", "we", "us") is operated by Getsnippet. This policy explains what information the Trove mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Trove you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name and, depending on how you sign in, your email address and a provider identifier. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or continue as a guest with just a display name. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only Apple's private relay address.

Content you create

Trove stores the photos ("frames") and voice notes you capture, along with the films and tapes you create and their settings (titles, cover images, shoot and reveal times, participants). This content is stored privately and is only made available to the people in the same film, according to that film's reveal rules.

Purchase information

Purchases of passes are handled by the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. To recognize what you've purchased, we work with RevenueCat, which processes your app-account identifier and the App Store transaction identifiers associated with your purchases.

Usage and diagnostic data

To keep the app working and improve it, we collect limited technical and usage data through the services below. This can include app version, device type and operating system, IP address, in-app events, session interactions, and crash and error reports.

Analytics & session tools

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the app so we can improve it. Clarity captures interaction and usage information. Trove runs Clarity in a privacy-preserving mode that masks text and images, so the contents of your photos, voice notes, and typed text are not recorded.

We use Sentry to receive crash and error reports so we can diagnose and fix problems.

How we use your information

How your content is shared

Trove is built for groups, so the content you add to a film is shared with the other people in that film — but only according to the film's reveal rules. You always see your own content; everyone else's opens at the reveal. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Service providers

We share information with the following providers only as needed to run Trove:

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (in your profile), which permanently removes your account and the content you created. You may also email us to request deletion. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Security

Content is stored in private storage and served through short-lived, signed links, and access is enforced by row-level security so people can only reach the films they belong to. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Trove is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
